Force Main Replacement Projects

To ensure consistent and uninterrupted sanitary sewer service, the Authority has determined it necessary to replace the sanitary force-main along Saxonburg Boulevard in Indiana Township. This will allow DCDBA to increase capacity while making necessary upgrades to the piping material. DCDBA will also be replacing a section of the Rich Hill force-main in Harmar Township in conjunction with the aforementioned project.

Permit approval from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PADEP) has recently been received for both projects. Bids for both projects were received and reviewed at a public bid opening on January 31, 2012. The apparent low bidder for the Hartwood Pump Station Force Main replacement (Contract 3) is Fleming Walker Industries, while the apparent low bidder for the Rich Hill Forcemain project is W.A. Petrakis Contracting. After the bids have been reviewed and tabulated by DCDBA's consulting engineer, the appropriate contractor will be announced and awarded at the DCDBA Regular Board Meeting on February 20, 2012.

Residents in the affected areas can expect to see survey crews staking out rights of way and construction zones in the next few months. Any residents or interested parties can continue to view this section of our website for Project updates throughout the construction projects. Questions or concerns regarding the projects can be directed to the Authority Manager, Enoch Jenkins, at (724) 265-5315 or email at enoch@deercreekauthority.com.
